I. Introduction
I have been playing WolfTeam on all days, and I feel that I can give people one of the best guides out there.

II. About the Game
WolfTeam is a new breed of FPS games featuring the "Wolf Transform." Instead of holding a knife (or a crowbar), like many other shooters, you transform into a powerful wolf capable of higher jumps, quicker running and wall climbing abilities. As for the weapons, the game currently has an arsenal of 16 Modern Weapons, and upgrades for 5 weapons. Futuristic weapons will be added to the rumored Closed Beta 2.

III. The Basics
A. Getting Started
First off, if you haven't been invited yet, please PM me for them. I'm assuming that since they are letting testers invite friends, they are in need of more testers.

Once you receive an invite e-mail, register for a new account in Softnyx or log in to an existing one. Once logged in, click the WolfTeam Banner in the Softnyx home page, and in the window that pops up, click "Am I A Tester?" to confirm. You can then download the game using links in the same pop-up window.

Install the game, and log in using your Softnyx account name, and click WolfTeam. Start the game, and the launcher will patch your game files, and so will Xtrap.

Once in-game, you are asked to create a name maximum of 12 characters. Choose carefully, because you will not be able to change it. You are now ready to jump in to battle.

Here's an explanation of the menus:
PRIDE - Still under development. This will be the clans page.
BATTLE - Here you can join or create a game.
TRAINING - Still under development. I assume that this is a basic tutorial for new players.
INVENTORY - See your weapons and equip them.
SHOP - Shop for new weapons or upgrade owned ones.

B. Controls

Here are some things not mentioned:
Wall Climb (Wolf Mode) - Run up towards a wall and jump. You will automatically cling to it.
Roar (Wolf Mode)- Hold R to gain an HP boost

C. The HUD - Heads-Up Display

I will update as soon as I get a screenshot.

IV. The Primary Weapons
Here comes the good part. I will explain to you how to effectively use the weapons in the game. I will be noting what weapons I have not used yet due to lack of money.

First of all, we need to talk about the statistics and what they actually are.

Mode - Single shot or automatic
Firing - This is the damage dealt by the weapon. The substats Wolf, Head, and Armor (body shot) show how effective it is against that specific target.
Penetration - People think you are hacking when you shoot through walls, when in fact, you can. Penetration measures the maximum thickness of the obstacle in which the rounds can go through.
Accuracy - How accurate the weapon is.
Range - The maximum effective range of the weapon.
Recoil - How much your crosshair will go up when firing.
Ammo - The ammunition carried in one clip and how many spare clips are carried at default. The ammo option in the Inventory screen doubles this amount.
Barrage - Fire rate of the weapon.
Weight - The weight of the weapon. The higher it is, the slower you will go when you have that weapon drawn out.
Endurance - Rate of crosshair growth. The lower the endurance is, the bigger your crosshair gets.

Now, on to the weapons themselves.

A. EM-16 A2

This is your standard weapon for the game. It makes me laugh since M16s were not designed to have fully-automatic capabilites. It's still a very effective weapon. The trick with this gun is to crouch whenever possible, but most of the time you will just be walking depending on the range. In long range, this gun will suck, but just crouch down and lay down single fire or 3-round bursts. In medium range, it's best to walk than crouch. In close range, jumping is now rather effective. Try bunny hopping with it, but not too much.

B. AKEI-47

Well, well, well, what do we have here? It's the mother of all high recoil weapons. Yes, I said, high-recoil. But never fear. This thing can kill anyone, and I mean ANYONE with one headshot. So crouch down, shooting single fire, and aim for the head-neck-chest area where it's most effective. Also, this is your first alternate Assault Rifle

C. EM-4 A1

This is an enhanced version of the EM-16 A1, with a scope addition in the upgrades. The scope is pretty unreliable, but it'll increase your accuracy. You can attach it, but don't use it much.

D. FANAS

This thing will eat your ammunition faster than you can chew Laffy Taffy (is that even a good comparison?). If you use the FireMode upgrade and the Magazine upgrade, you're good to go. I recommend 3-Shot Burst in medium to long ranges, but Full Auto/Basic Mode is VERY effective in close range. With enough practice, Full Auto is the best mode for any range.

E. XEM-8

This is pretty much an improved version of the FANAS. Very effective with the 3-Shot burst and can kill wolves and humans the same rate.

F. EF-2000

The most bad-ass automatic weapon. This thing can kill like an AK-47, with the accuracy of a sniper rifle. It pretty much doesn't matter where you aim, but the head is always target numero uno!

G. MEC-11

This is your starting SMG. It's effective in medium ranges when bunnyhopping, and in longer ranges while crouched down, but if you fully upgrade this you will have fun mincing people down with it. Walking is NOT recommended.

H. PI-90

This is an underpowered SMG, but the fire rate and clip size compensates for it. A fully upgraded P90 is a real killer. Very effective against wolves, but go for the chest and head shots. Torso shots are like .22 rounds hitting you in the ass.

I. I-115 A1
[img]http://jnabung.users.gamebitonline.com/wolfteam/l96a1.jpg[img]

People say this is a noob and overpowered gun, but that's when you're camping. If you practice enough times, you will be able to snipe people in ranges they will never think a sniper would go for. The best way to kill 2 people? Kill them with 1 shot. A perfectly (or luckily) lined up shot will skewer 2 people with one round.

J. WT-MG1

Did you say MG? Hell yes! The problem? This weapon needs to be deployed. Work with a partner to set up an MG nest near the usual spots and let the others guard the other inconspicuous paths.
 K. WT-RL2r

UNTESTED.

V. The Secondary Weapons
A. EM-92FS

This is your best bet for taking out wounded enemies when your primary is out of ammo. Headshots are recommended, as chest shots only take off a very small chunk of health, around 15-20.

B. Gloc 17

It may be as accurate as the M92FS, it's pretty much slower. It compensates by having an equal strength in headshots, chest shots, and wolf shots.

C. EM-1911 A1

This pistol has a slower fire rate than the other guns, but it makes up with accuracy and power. Line your shots up carefully. You only have 7 rounds.

D. USF

This pistol is a hybrid of the Gloc 17 and the EM-1911 A1. 13 Rounds and the same power as the 1911. This is the choice of people who really love pistol spamming/barrage.

E. DE

The most powerful pistol, but it also has a lot of recoil and kick. Use in moderation.

VI. The Special Weapons
A. MK-SG

Is there anything special with this grenade? Nope. People say that it's overpowered, but if you are about 6 feet of a nade, it'll kill you instantly, not to mention throw you about 5 times that distance. It's recommended you DON'T tap your left mouse button as it will do that long and painful nade-throwing animation. Hold it down and release it to throw it faster.

B. Smoke Grenade

Who says this thing is useless? If you see a sniper, throw it at his line of sight. Run for cover, and flank that sniper.

VII. The Game Modes
A. Base Capture
If you've ever played Battlefield 2, then you'll know this is like Conquest. Your objective is to take all control points while defending controlled ones from enemies. Teamwork is essential since you will need to attack and defend at the same time.

B. Team Battle
This is pretty much a team deathmatch, so everything goes.

C. Bomb Plant.
First was a BF2 style game mode, now it's Counter-Strike. The Red Team plants the bomb, while the blue team defends bombsites. Instead of actually defusing the bomb, you have to disassemble it and move it away from the bomb site. If you are holding the bomb, DO NOT switch weapons unless you are the last guy alive on your team and your still have enemies to kill. If you are holding the bomb, you can throw it away to explode at a safe distance away from you, your team, and the a bombsite. If you are NOT holding the bomb, you'll just blow up BUT it will not count against you. Another thing is that you only have 1 life per round, so work with your team, stick together and communicate often.

VIII. Tactics
A. Survival
  • Reload if you have half a clip or less. You don't want to go in a firefight and find that you have 1 round left in a clip.
  • Listening is key. Listen for footsteps, and identify gun sounds to gauge the strength of your enemy.
  • Check the Performance tab on your weapons. Look at the Headshot, Wolf, and Armor statistics. This will tell you how you will use your weapon, either headshots or chestshots.
  • Strip enemy equipment ONLY if the coast is clear. Nothing is more frustrating than getting 4 grenades in an equipment bag and then getting killed by a guy looking at you do it.
  • Know your maps. Find secret passages or paths that people do not usually go to.
  • Go somewhere unexpected. If you are going this way and so does the enemy, find a route around it to get to your destination safely.
  • In Wolf Form, practice your "acrobatics" like jumping and wall climbing. Just running to your target will get you killed.
  • When going through tight alleys, it's best to use Wolf form.

B. Being a Team Player
  • Attack as a group. Don't be a lone wolf.
  • If you have a sniper, cover your team with it. If you have an MG, find a teammate to assist you in setting up an MG nest.
  • Splitting into reasonable groups of 2-4 people are essential in flanking the enemy and surprise them.
  • When defending, defend ALL possible routes. You will be frustrated to find all 8 team members camping in one spot and realize that the other team completed their objective.
  • Communication. Don't sever that line of communication with your team. When the coast is clear, type out short but understandable orders. If you are playing with a group of friends, get a VOIP server such as Ventrilo or TeamSpeak, even the Xfire voice chat works.
My personal strategies:
  • In your arsenal, make sure you have enough choices. Myself, I have the Standard WP, and SMG WP, and AltRifle WP and a Special Purpose weapon i.e. sniper, heavy MG and rocket launcher.
  • Never underestimate your sidearm. The M92FS and G17 are pieces of crap, so buy any of the other pistols. The EM-1911 A1 takes about 4 hits to kill (7 rounds, 5K). The USF is 7 hits (13 rounds, 10K), while the DE is 3 hits (7 rounds, 15K).
  • When sniping, move around to various positions. It'll prevent your enemy from ambushing you or tossing nades at you.
  • When mounted on an MG, NEVER stay in one spot longer than 1 minute. Help your team advance deep into enemy territory. This is very effective, especially in Base Capture.
