Im sure many of u av played doom i think its a a brilliant gane even tho the grafics are poor the games just great for when it came out i think its one of the most famous fps

Yes sir, i absolutly played doom, the first time and long time was on snes, with the turn action and the strafe action that can't be used at the same time , the day i had my first computer i got myself a demo of it, but i didn't have the mouse function for reason i don't know, with my new pc i bought myself DOOM 3, and ROE, i can't run them in full settings but they are working.

Im looking for the old doom game with its maps and the many created by ppl to run on windows xp, with a mouse, but im not searching it, it surely exists somewhere anyway.

A little cooperation mode with strangers won't hurt me, without talking about some DM.

I can remember one summer 15 years ago, I saved up for a month to buy ultimate doom, the one with doom 1, doom 2 and I think some extras. I did so many chores for my parents to buy that. I think games like that and transport tycoon and xcom are the antithesis of games today. Maybe I'm old.. but today it's all flash and no substance

How old are you, biznaz? 30ish? And that's not old! I think that in terms of the "all flash and no substance" comment, you have a bit of a point... though perhaps you haven't seen all the games out there. But perhaps you could give your definition of substance. Because I'm not so sure that I would say that Doom had substance either... it just had some good gameplay for its time. Halo has good gameplay for today's time, and is why so many people love it. (plus it has a working storyline to boot... which is something Doom didn't have. Doom had a premise, rather than a storyline. Usually involved going into hell and killing things to escape or stem the invasion into Earth or something. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.)

About the story of Doom its pretty much that, and if i remember well on the snes version anyway, the one before final doom, at the end, after being in the pentacle and opening it cleening all the room, we enter a teleporter, going to hell vresemblably because we end up in a black room surrounded by mobs, and ...... we die .

which is kinda silly too... because supposedly those who go to hell don't die anyway... they are eternally suffering, rather than dying (however painfully). Not that I'm trying to make this into a theological discussion. Perhaps more accurately... the ending of doom could be that you are forced to play pong forever. (pong isn't that bad... but forever... )
