It would be sweet if they made a controller with all the setbacks vs mouse in mind.

Something I can make in my minds eye includes a HUGE analog stick. Something that gave feedback but didnt reset to the center.

For MMOs I used to use one of those palm controllers. Basically a smaller keyboard with a nice little wrist rest. If dont have the longest fingers in the world I suggest trying one out. I say this because I have long fingers and I just barley had my wrist hang over the pad.

has anyone ever tried a steering wheel in a FPS?

I tried a wheel to control cars with battlefield. It's fun but you can't possibly change between driving and shooting fast enough heh. And keyboard provides enough driving to get the job done so no need to use the wheel. I did it for the laughs and got some hehe.

Keyboard/mouse is my choice actually, its a pain for me to use joysticks or paddles, since i discovered the mouse(i use pads only for cars games, and something else that i didn't find the name for planes games that i don't have, but its not the question).

But a thing i would like to try if i have the occasion to pay me that for another primary use of can be : ...... The Pen Tablet !

After i ever had some crazy ideas that can exist or that might can be invented one day : A pair of gloves with motion stuff on it, and eventually virtual keys spotted on the space or things like that.

More maybe not invented yet : 2 sorts of handle, one on each hand, with many buttons on each, ergonomically designed, a bit as a Wii pad can be, but this thing is a bit at the Nes paddle evolution state(yes i mean the old thing we used to play Super mario borss on).

The 2 last ideas are totally not viable actually, i didn't try to adapt a Wii pad on a computer, but it doesn't have enought keys and its a really non ergonomic item.

Staying in my crasy concept, the motion of the char can be simply activated with a 4 keys pad while the mouse can be replaced by a Wii like motion device, maybe a bit diefferent, not acting by rotation, but by XYZ vectors, rotation can be used to make lean the char.

MY idea basically, that i wil surely never make, is to have captors also on the chest and shoulders of the player (real entity), making him a self himself mooving his torso and harms as he do.

But actually not any games are made or have anything to do with this idea, maybe the Wii show a way, a moovie showed it a long ago : The Lawnmower Man of Brett Leonard made in 1992. Remember ?

Technology is maybe there, somewhere we don't know about, i think i ever eard or saw about virtual reality helmets.

Well all that are just crazy ideas that didn't quit my mind since a lot of years.

About the Falcon its the first time i see such a thing, but i think the mouse may be more reactive and more hard to break, its only a first opinion.

A parametter of the Falcon is that it has 3 axis, a mouse has only 2, mouse is in 2D and falcon n 3D if u prefer.

About that, prossibility to make some in the air, simply with infra red captors and maybe a blue touth, the Wii pad works like that, its an example, and plz don't ask me to do it

Your second idea sounds kinda like what the falcon is.
It's a 3d control so yeah it has the 3 axes of any 3rd dimensional space (x,y,z). But the really cool thing about it is that is has force feedback, i.e. it handles physics, it pushes you and for example if you are moving a box you will feel the weight of it. It also handles gun recoil so it feels way more realistic. I think I might buy that one once they have more support for it. They even say in the manual that you shouldn't let go the thing if it's making a strong force because if you let it loose it might break itself!! hah! Not that forcing your Falcon to break itself would be cool but I mean that it actually creates a nice amount of force.

That looks like it could get tiring. Not sure if I could whip out one of those when I felt like pulling a 12 hour Counter Strike binge.

Yeah. I think it's a nice device but I think of it kinda like the Wiimote. It's a nice toy for specific games. Like games that would be developed specifically for it.
