Anyone have some info on APB? I'd like to know if it uses FPS mechanics or if the shooting will be more along the lines of what GTA is like.

If you mean A Path Beyond (C&C Renegade) then yes its a full Total Conversion Mod FPS using C&C Renegade.

There are a good few differences between the 2 though;

APB is based in the Red Alert C&C series, just after the Retaliation and Aftermath games.

There is a multitude of different buildings that are used in a verity of different set ups showing the difference in "tech" levels

APB has extremely big maps compared to the standard Renegade.

Its still in the Beta phase but its a good enough game to play now. the guys are doing a good job of geting the feel right and accurate to the RA universe.

It is also totally free to download and play

Ah well, either way the renegade APB (a path beyond) is in the beta release and they were running servers of over 30 people and IIRC they were hoping to get up to about 50 with a few tweeks.

Yeah, I was talking about All Points Bulletin. I wasn't quite so positive on the shooting mechanics of the game.

I did check out the C&C gig though for awhile. Not too bad IMO. Having a little difficult logging in with Direct Connect or the MG-Gaming tool.
