Watching the videos, the FPS mechanics seem identical to Unreal Tournament. I wish they would slow the pace down a bit to seem more realistic. Not because I lack skill, but because I hate PvP that just looks... well, weird. The side-strafe "wiggle" is something common in many FPS games, with the speed I've seen the characters moving, this will look ridiculous. It would look even worse if they all started jumping around. I really don't want Huxley to disappoint me...

I agree 100%. While I love the buttery smoothness of the controls from the Unreal Engine, I hate all the bouncing around and double jumping. I know from the videos I've seen it wont be anything like Planetside's pace.

Welcome to the forums DFW. I have to say, even with the Unreal-type mechanics that Huxley will have, comparing it to Planetside I think the quality of shooting in Huxley would be better. The great thing about Planetside was the amount of players allowed on one server at one time... but due to this SOE sacrificed some quality so they could save some framerate- still, one thing that Planetside has in their mechanics that I will always favor is that jumping uses stamina, so it's not overused and the battlefield doesn't look like a game of pop-the-weasel.
