Well since most of the games that are coming have the option to change the camera angle (May play 3rd person by choice) I think a way to break it down would be by taking a look at the persistence world and controls.
So I thikn of 2 categories:
.Main MMOFPS: Persistent worlds. Can be played completely in first person (Even if 3rd person exists). No point and click, true FPS controls.
..Planetside
..WW2OL
..Huxley
..Twilight War
..Lost Colony
..Neocron**
..Face of Mankind
..Fallen Earth ( Maybe, it is still unclear )
.Community MMOS: Game that people who play MMOFPSs are also interested in.
..Tabula Rasa
..Eve Online
..AO
..Gunz
..War Rock
..Wolf Team
..Etc
**For Neocron I think it is still a FPS because it has true FPS controls but attacking stuff has some stuff like in point and click games. I would place it there for simplicity also. No need to break your head deciding what category it should be.
That way I think its simpler to separate games.
Anyway, my 2 cents
