I've been searching around for the right 3D modeling software for me and landed at http://www.blender.org . It's free and open source. Anyone try it out yet?

Hm I make some 2d in 3d widespace shooters and i've used blender. 3 Words: What the F***!?. Lol sorry yeah it was hard but try it if you have patience you can learn. Try Anim8tor or w/e repulsive name its called now. Its simplier. For those of us with the little brains.

I've used blender, Once you get right down into it. You start to notice that it limits you what you can do. It's animation is complete crap, with no fluid effects. But what do you want for something free?

I've professionally trained with Maya, and i can tell if you got the money. Invest it to Maya or most others favorite 3dMAX
