MassiveFPS: Hello, and thank you for conducting this interview with MassiveFPS.
AndoSky: No problem, it's my pleasure.
MassiveFPS: Alright, before we start, can you give a brief synopsis on what Wolf Team is about and what to expect from it?
AndoSky: Wolf Team is a MMO FPS for the PC that features the ability for players to transform into a werewolf for melee combat. The game is published by Aeria Games and is free-to-play.
MassiveFPS: Your latest press release states that you just started Open Beta, is that still going on? How has that been?
AndoSky: We were very satisfied with the results of Open Beta. We resolved a several issues and were able optimize a few things with the game. Wolf Team is now out of beta since players can purchase items in-game using Aeria Points.
MassiveFPS: What are the most popular game modes in Wolf Team?
AndoSky: Your basic Death Match mode is the most popular in Wolf Team, probably because it's quick and easy. However my personal favorite at the moment is Wolf Conquest mode, because it pairs up humans vs wolves, and no one is able to transform. In this mode I think the wolves have a good advantage due to their speed and strength, however when the humans work together they can be a difficult force to stop.
MassiveFPS: What measurements have you taken in the past or plan to in the future to curb hacking?
AndoSky: Wolf Team uses GameGuard as an anti-cheating mechanism. Whenever we find a new issue we work closely with our developers to address it. We also have a dedicated GM staff that is very good at monitoring the game. They work with our volunteer Game Sage members and the community to weed out the bad players.
MassiveFPS: Now... we know Wolf Team holds some persistent traits related to MMO's like experience and gold, but do you eventually plan on expanding Wolfteam into the more common MMO platform (ie: persistent environments on hosted servers)?
AndoSky: This would be cool, but probably isn't in the scope of what can be done at the moment with the game with the way it was designed. Perhaps a sequel some day would add these elements.
MassiveFPS: What types of things should we look forward to seeing in Wolf Team's future?
AndoSky: In a few weeks we will be adding “Classic Mode” versions of the existing game modes that will give players the option to play matches as only human vs human. There are also new maps and other features that will continue to be developed in the future.
MassiveFPS: Aside from transforming into wolves, what do you believe is the most innovative idea emulated in Wolf Team?
AndoSky: Being able to transform into a werewolf is definitely the most innovative idea, and not just because it's cool, but also because it adds a level of tactics to the game in deciding when to transform. Humans have a large variety of guns they choose from, and most weapons can be upgraded depending on how a player wants to modify them. Players can then choose which weapons they want to use in game. Wolf Team then balances that by classifying weapons by setting a Weapon Point value for each weapon, and players are only able to select better weapons after they accumulate points during the game. This adds an additional element of strategy.
MassiveFPS: We're sure that we'll hear more about you in the future, but for the meantime, is there anything else you would like to add?
AndoSky: Be sure to check out Wolf Team if you haven't already. You can find it on our website and it doesn't take very long to register for a free account and download the game. http://wolfteam.aeriagames.com
MassiveFPS: Thanks for sharing your time with us!
AndoSky: You're welcome!
