Players can choose between two races: the Legion of Man or the Beast Horde. The initial launch of Savage 2 will feature the Conquer game type. This game is won by destroying the enemy's command center - which is either a stronghold or a lair. Each team elects one commander - which views the world top down - that should build defenses and upgrades to support his team. The other players of his team pick a class - which can be changed later - and scout for enemies and rescources.

The only real rescource is gold, which can be gathered from gold mines. These mines are vital for each team since they are the only way to build defenses and pay the upkeep.

Another task of the commander is to build garrisons or sub lairs, these serve as an additional spawn point - besides the command center. Good position and defense of these structures is essential: a well placed sneak garrison can give a team a huge advantage.

After the base is setup, the commander should give order to his team members and use a wide array of buffs and debufs.

There will be a map editor available, which will allow for scripts and events and all sorts of things so players can create their own game types.

Savage is quite nice Free MMOFPS in fantasy settings. Since the update there can be up to four teams in one map. Legion of Man is more ranged style and Beasts more melee style combat. Choose what suits you better.

Pros
I like the idea of electing commanders and voting about for example another map for next fight. The strategy/fps concept of game guarantees (certain) replayablility.

-Cons
Mindless clicking when you build/harvest something. Neither your mouse nor your index finger can withstand it for longer time.

As all MMOFPS i recommend you to have: not a lowend computer, fast connection to internet and reading fan manuals on phorums before starting game. Don't try to be commander until you learn how to succeed in the field, or people will dislike you. And as a player, don't steal more money than you REALLY need from your teams treasury.

Installation is quite intuitive.

I played the first savage demo and I thought it was an ok game, but was way to old. This one looks alright.
